Y6 Residential - Day 4
13th July 2017
Today was our last full day of our residential trip and we have certainly made the most of it.
A slightly earlier start today so we could get off to the Heights of Abraham. To get there we had to take a cable car ride, which it is fair to say not everyone was keen on doing! However I think everyone agreed that the views we saw from the top were well worth it.
Once we were all at the top we spent a bit of time in a playground before heading off for our first tour which was of Masson Cavern. The very knowledgeable tour guide gave us a whistle-stop tour of 350 million years of history! From explaining how some of the different things that we find in rock came to be there to why we call plumbers, plumbers!
After that we had our packed lunches and then we were soon off for another tour of a different cavern. Here we learnt lots about the lives of miners. This was really interesting and certainly made you think about what the miners put up with all those years ago.
There were lots of other things to look at so we took our time to do them all before finishing with some more time in another play area.
Then it was time for the cable cars to take us back down and we were onto the coach to get back to the youth hostel.
We are currently completing a reflection activity but it won’t be long before our last dinner here and then it is disco time!
